On Thursday, October 15th, credit unions commemorated International Credit Union (ICU) Day®, which celebrates the spirit of the global credit union movement. The day is recognized to reflect upon the credit union movement’s history, promote its achievements, recognize hard work and share member experiences. International Credit Union (ICU) Day® has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948.

Governor Jim Pillen has proclaimed October 15th as International Credit Union Day in Nebraska. This year marks the 78th anniversary of this annual event, which celebrated under the theme of “Cooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World”. In honor of this special day, credit unions invite their members and the entire community to celebrate with them.

Be sure to mark your calendars for next year’s ICU Day on October 21, 2027!
