The day is recognized to reflect upon the credit union movement&#8217;s history, promote its achievements, recognize hard work and share member experiences. International Credit Union (ICU) Day\u00ae has been celebrated on the third Thursday of October since 1948.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ncultheaffiliate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/2026-International-Credit-Union-Day-1-scaled.jpg\" width=\"148\" height=\"244\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6385 aligncenter size-full\" style=\"float: left;\" \/>Governor Jim Pillen has proclaimed October 15th as International Credit Union Day in Nebraska. This year marks the 78th anniversary of this annual event, which celebrated under the theme of \u201cCooperative Finance: A Steady Signal in a Noisy World\u201d.
