The U.S. Senate confirmed John Crews<\/strong> in August to serve on the National Credit Union Administration Board, succeeding outgoing \"\"Chairman Kyle Hauptman, whose term expired in August 2025. Crews will serve a term ending Aug. 2, 2031. Hauptman had been serving as the three-member board\u2019s sole member following the 2025 removal of board members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka. Crews most recently served as deputy assistant secretary for financial institutions policy at the U.S. Treasury. Following his swearing-in, President Donald Trump is expected to designate Crews as NCUA chairman. The leadership transition comes at a significant time for the agency as it continues a broader effort to reduce regulatory burden and modernize credit union oversight.<\/p>\n
