The Nebraska Credit Union League (League) recognized Scott Sullivan with the Hal Allen Legislative Leadership Award during its Annual Meeting & Convention Awards Banquet in Omaha. The award was introduced in 2010 and bears the name of its first recipient Hal Allen. The late Hal Allen was a volunteer with the University of Nebraska FCU who dedicated himself to serving his credit union, as well as, all credit unions through his advocacy.<\/p>\n
Scott Sullivan began his thirty-six (36) year career with the League in 1989 as its first Government Affairs Specialist. He was promoted to President\/CEO of the League in 2000. Steve Edgerton, recipient of the award in 2022 and former League President\/CEO, presented the award to Sullivan recognizing several of his many accomplishments including developing the role of the government affairs officer, dramatically increasing PAC fundraising, passing numerous updates to the State Credit Union Act, passing an overhaul of the state ATM statutes, being the 3rd state to pass enabling prized-linked savings legislation, increasing and sustaining credit union participation in the GAC, led both the 1991 Operations Grassroots Rally and the 1998 Membership Access Act Rally for Nebraska’s credit unions, served on the national association\u2019s Board of Directors, served on various national committees, led the effort in purchasing the League building, and is a recipient of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues’ Eugene H. Farley League Leadership Award.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
