Congressman Mike Flood (NE-1) hosted a tour of a manufactured home development named Kilpatrick Woods located in Hagerstown, Maryland. The development includes 239 manufactured single-family homes in a residential subdivision within the city of Hagerstown. Each of the homes are titled as real estate and meet Fannie Mae MH Advantage and Freddie Mac CHOICE collateral standards and qualify for conventional financing. All the homes meet ENERGY STAR standards and twenty of the homes will be net zero. The homes in Kilpatrick Woods will be priced from $260 thousand to $375 thousand.<\/p>\n

Mike Flood (NE-1) guides tour for Nebraskans of Kilpatrick Woods,\u00a0 a <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0The challenge of affordable workforce housing is nationwide, and Congressman Flood has prioritized finding solutions for this challenge in Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District but also statewide. The tour of Kilpatrick Woods included representatives from across Nebraska including League representatives, OneNebraska FCU\u2019s President\/CEO Brian Christensen, local developers and builders, chambers of commerce representatives, financial industry representatives and NIFA representatives. Communities throughout Nebraska face the challenge of job openings without the necessary housing availability to fill those jobs. Manufactured homes are seen as an option that communities can look at to bring the cost down for housing. The houses in Kilpatrick woods were set atop a concrete foundation and had stick pitched roofs. \u201cWhen looking at these homes you would not think that they are manufactured,\u201d said Scott Sullivan, President\/CEO of the League. \u201cWe commend Congressman Flood for looking at ways to bring more affordable housing to Nebraska and for bringing together developers, builders, lenders, non-profits, and government agencies to work collaboratively together to tackle this issue,\u201d said Sullivan.
