The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 10th. There will be a Special Election in the 1st Congressional District on June 28th to fill the seat vacated by former Congressman Jeff Fortenberry who resigned on March 31st.<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ncultheaffiliate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/vote.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1112 aligncenter size-full\" style=\"float: right;\" width=\"136\" height=\"112\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>RESULTS ARE UNOFFICIAL:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Governor<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Republican Side: The top 3 candidates all had a real chance to win but, in the end, Jim Pillen wins the nomination defeating Trump endorsed candidate Charles Herbster and State Senator Brett Lindstrom. This was likely the most brutal primary held for this office in the Republican Party with more than $1.6 in negative ads.<\/li>\n<li>Democrat Side: State Senator Carol Blood easily won her party\u2019s nomination.<\/li>\n<li>Libertarians nominate Scott Zimmerman.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Secretary of State<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incumbent Bob Evnen held off Robert Borer to win his party\u2019s nomination for re-election.<\/li>\n<li>Democrats did not have a candidate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Treasurer<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incumbent John Murante won his party\u2019s bid for re-election.<\/li>\n<li>Democrats did not have a candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Libertarians nominate Katrina Tomsen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Attorney General<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Legislature Speaker Mike Hilgers handily wins his party\u2019s nomination.<\/li>\n<li>Democrats did not have a candidate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Auditor<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Governor Mike Foley wins his party\u2019s nomination to return to as Auditor.<\/li>\n<li>Democrats did not have a candidate.<\/li>\n<li>Libertarian\u2019s nominated Gene Siadek. Gene is a former Omaha area credit union board member.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Congressional District 1<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Democrat Side: State Senator Patty-Pansing Brooks is the party\u2019s nominee for the Special and the General Elections.<\/li>\n<li>Republican Side: State Senator Mike Flood is the party\u2019s nominee for the Special and the General Elections.\n<ul>\n<li>Republicans hold a 62,000-voter advantage over the Democrats but there are 95,000 non-partisan (Independent) voters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">District 2<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Republican Side: Incumbent Don Bacon will vie for his fourth term as CD 2 Congressman.<\/li>\n<li>Democrat Side: State Senator Tony Vargas won his party\u2019s nomination.\n<ul>\n<li>There were 64,223 Republican ballots cast and 41,191 Democrat ballots cast. In CD 2, Republicans have just a 4,000-voter advantage and there are 100,000 non-partisan (Independent) voters. Therefore CD 2 is traditionally very competitive between the two major parties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">District 3<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Democrat Side: David Else won his party\u2019s nomination.<\/li>\n<li>Republican Side: Incumbent Adrian Smith sailed through to seek re-election as CD 3 Congressman.\n<ul>\n<li>If you look at the votes cast in CD 3, there were 16,600 democrat votes compared to 117,420 Republican votes. Republicans have a 187,000-voter advantage over Democrats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>State Legislature *<strong>top vote winner listed first in each LD<\/strong>*<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>LD 2 \u2013 Incumbent Robert Clements v. Christian Merch (Omaha)<\/li>\n<li>LD 8 \u2013 Incumbent Megan Hunt v. Marilyn Asher (Midtown Omaha)<\/li>\n<li>LD 10 \u2013 Incumbent Wendy DeBoer v. Lou Ann Goding (Northwest Douglas County)<\/li>\n<li>LD 12 \u2013 Merv Riepe v. Robbin Richards (Ralston)<\/li>\n<li>LD 14 \u2013 Incumbent John Arch v. Cori Villegas (Papillion)<\/li>\n<li>LD 16 \u2013 Incumbent Ben Hansen v. Connie Petersen (Blaire)<\/li>\n<li>LD 18 \u2013 Michael Young v.
