International CU Day Proclamation

On October 15th, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts held a proclamation signing ceremony where he proclaimed October 18th as International Credit Union Day (ICU Day) in Nebraska.  This year is the 70th Anniversary of credit unions around the world celebrating ICU Day.

During the ceremony Governor Ricketts thanked credit unions for improving the financial health of the communities that they serve.  In remarks before those in attendance, League President/CEO Scott Sullivan said, “Credit unions exist to serve the financial needs of their member-owners and to be their partner in achieving their dreams of higher education, home ownership, financial peace, and a secure retirement.”  He went on to thank Governor Ricketts for recognizing the good work that Nebraska credit unions do throughout the State and for the proclamation.
