Siouxland FCU Celebrates Renovation Project

Siouxland Federal Credit Union held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, 14 August, to celebrate the completion of a major renovation project at their main branch in South Sioux City, NE. The South Sioux City and Sioux City Chamber ambassadors were in attendance, as were several local community leaders, members, and friends.

The renovation project began last fall and includes many new upgrades to the facility. Among them are:

   • Over 4,400 square foot area to the west of the building, which includes 12 new offices and a new work area for the mortgage department.

The rapid growth of Uber, Lyft, and other Transportation Network Companies (TNCs) seems to be outpacing the efforts of local, state, and federal agencies to regulate these services. One result is that responsibility for losses to TNC drivers’ vehicles isn’t always clear.

Private auto insurance generally excludes coverage for a vehicle when it’s being used as a cab (or “livery” service). And don’t expect the TNC to pick up the tab.

Foundation Encouraging CUs to Participate in CFPB Initiative to Build Consumer Financial Capability

Foundation Offering Additional Grant Assistance to Selected CUs

 

Madison, Wis. – In a notice sent this week, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) announced an opportunity for organizations to participate in their 2016 Your Money, Your Goals Cohort. The National Credit Union Foundation’s (the Foundation) is not only encouraging credit unions to participate in this CFPB initiative, but is committing three small dollar ($5,000) grants totaling $15,000 to support any credit unions that get selected for this effort.
