NE’s Congressmen Vote for TRID Delay

On October 7th, the House of Representatives passed a bill to hold credit unions and other financial institutions harmless from enforcement and litigation until February 1, 2016 from the Truth in Lending Act-Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act Integrated Disclosures or TRID rule while they work in good faith to comply with the new mortgage rule.  All three Nebraska Congressmen voted in favor of the delay.  “We appreciate Representatives Fortenberry, Ashford, and Smith supporting Nebraska’s credit unions by voting for this important delay in TRID enforcement.  Credit unions continue to be inundated with regulations coming down from Washington and so this delay will help to provide credit unions with some additional time to comply with the regulation without fear of penalty or suit” said Scott Sullivan, President/CEO of the League.  CUNA and the Leagues are urging the Senate to follow the House’s lead and pass the TRID Delay bill.     {Read The Full Article}

It’s Official!

Kansas Corporate and Missouri Corporate legally merged July 1, 2015, but there was still much work to be done in the 30 days that followed. Operationally, the two corporate credit unions merged, August 1st, with new members going live on coreCONNECT and conducting business as Kansas Corporate members, August 3rd

An idea that had been percolating for some time (as great ideas do), the merger between the two like-minded, service-oriented organizations, became more than a pipe dream last winter when state regulators gave their ‘okay’ to the merger. NCUA approval was granted at the regulator’s May 2015 meeting but plans and progress had been ongoing since talks began last fall. {Read The Full Article}
