NCUL Wins CUNA Blockbuster Award

NCUL Volunteer Distinguished Service Award Goes to Tom Bolton

Tom Bolton | Volunteer of the Year

The Nebraska Credit Union League honored Tom Bolton, longtime Chairman and Board Director of Liberty First Credit Union as the 2014 Volunteer of the Year during its Annual Awards Banquet on June 5th.

Tom Bolton has served on the Board of Directors for Liberty First Credit Union for over 28 years and has been a member of the credit union since 1969. Since 1995 Mr. Bolton has held the position of Board Chairman, previously holding every other position available on the board including Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and Director. His dedication to Liberty First shows in the miles he drives each month to make the board meetings. His position at Burlington Railroad moved him from Lincoln to Texas and then Kansas City. {Read The Full Article}

Happy Retirement!

Jane Kerrigan has announced her retirement effective May 1, 2014. Jane has been with the credit union 24 years, 14 years as President. She has succeeded in keeping the credit union financially strong and provided the best financial services to the members. Please join the employees of Baker’s Federal Credit Union and the Board of Directors in extending best wishes in the next stage of her life. Sharon Lee has been selected to fill the position of President. She has been with the credit union 14 years and has prior experience in banking and management. Sharon has experience to take over where Jane left off. The preparation has been done to allow a very smooth transition. Everything is being done to continue the excellent service you have come to expect from your credit union.

Enterprise Car Sales – June 2014 Update

Enterprise Car Sales is located at 7505 “L” Street in Ralston. We have been a proud partner with credit unions across the country for more than 30 years.  We have been focusing our time and energy on fostering those relationships and helping local credit unions increase their used auto loan volume.  We have found that through a direct partnership, the credit union, the member, and Enterprise all find success.

Credit Unions Asked to Participate in CUNA’s free monthly Financial and Statistical Trends Program

CUNA is asking credit unions to participate in their free monthly Financial and Statistical Trends (F.A.S.T) program.

CUNA’s Economics and Statistics Department uses FAST to track monthly financial data on credit unions. The data is used to produce national estimates of credit union financial conditions to respond to legislative and media inquiries.

Liberty First CU Grabs Outstanding Achievement Award

The Credit Unions for Kids Outstanding Achievement Award was handed out at the Annual Awards Banquet on June 5th. This year’s winner, Liberty First CU, has been a continuous and major contributor for Credit Unions for Kids. They raised 41 cents per member for Children’s Hospital and Medical Center through fundraisers in their credit union which included Radiothon Change Bandits and phone sponsor, March Madness Employee Bracket Challenge, Easter Egg icon sales, a sand Volleyball tournament, golf sponsorships, Jeans days, Santa letters, Skip a Pays, candy bar sales, reusable bag sales, along with other internal fundraising all year long. They do an extraordinary job promoting CU4 kids through their website, social media, posters and flyers, newsletter articles, and emails. Health Savings Accounts Poised to Expand Under the Affordable Care Act
