NE’s Congressmen Sign Letter to NCUA

Nebraska’s three Congressmen, Rep. Jeff Fortenberry (CD 1), Rep. Lee Terry (CD 2), Rep. Adrian Smith (CD 3), signed on to a joint letter from Congressman Peter King (R-NY) and Congressman Greg Meeks (D-NY) to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) regarding the NCUA’s proposed rule on Risk-Based Capital (RBC) for credit unions. The King-Meeks letter urges the NCUA to make changes to the proposed rule to ensure that the rule does not “unduly burden credit unions, and does not adversely affect healthy credit unions’ ability to meet the needs of their members”.
Nebraska’s three Congressmen join 282 of their colleagues in the House as signers of the letter. “We are very grateful to Congressman Fortenberry, Terry, and Smith for their support of Nebraska’s credit unions and for their efforts to urge the NCUA to ensure that the RBC proposed rule will not negatively impact the mainstream services credit union members want and deserve from their local credit union” said Scott Sullivan, President/CEO of NCUL. {Read The Full Article}
